BakeryEquipment.com’s President, Rick Evans, entered the baking industry in 1986. Just 18 years old, he started by sweeping the floors of Baxter Manufacturing Inc, a well-known oven manufacturing company. Rick quickly gained knowledge in the inner workings of both the business and the equipment. He climbed up the industry ladder working for the company founder, Max Baxter, and eventually oversaw a large team building the ovens, proof boxes and various other equipment. Rick also handled oven maintenance issues with customers over the phone often, which led him to an idea.

In 1991, Rick opened his own bakery equipment repair service with a stack of business cards and a pickup truck. His company quickly grew and served bakeries and food store chains in Washington and Oregon, employing the best technicians in the region.

In addition to maintenance services, Evans’ Bakery Service Company began selling pre-owned bakery equipment in 1997. Each machine was checked by a technician and sold with a warranty. Dedicated to quality and customer service, he grew the business to the leading Baking Equipment company in the country.

As the industry evolved and large food store chains consolidated their scratch bakeries, the service business declined. Evans closed his Seattle based company in 1999. That same year he founded BakeryEquipment.com and offered food service equipment buyers an online store to shop, compare, and purchase the right new or pre-owned machine for their specific needs.

Today, BakeryEquipment.com partners with pre-owned equipment dealers, new equipment manufacturers, and the premiere equipment service agencies. Each client relationship is based on personalized service from our sales staff, who work to find the perfect solution at the right price.

Our company has also expanded to a stronger international presence, with representatives residing in Canada, Latin America, and Europe.
